Marginalized Youth in Hong Kong
With support from ADMCF, Friends International a leading Non-Governmental Organization working with marginalized children and youth, undertook a study that identified and assessed gaps in the delivery of existing social services to the most vulnerable children and youth in Hong Kong. The study identified the following needs:
- A need for stronger outreach
- A need for additional and appropriate social services for marginalized youth
- A need for social services for ethnic minorities
- A need for employment oriented vocational training
- A need for a sustainable and effective social integration
As a result of the study findings, Friends-International, has joined forces with ADMCF to develop an exciting and innovative project for 'at risk' youth in Hong Kong. Entitled, "Investing In Hong Kong's Future", the project, with the support and participation of private sector partners, will support marginalized youth find ways to become constructive members of society and contribute to Hong Kong’s development.
The overall objective of the project is to ensure the sustainable social reintegration of Hong Kong’s marginalized youth through innovative initiatives developed in collaboration with the private sector (including both NGOs and businesses), the Government, youth and their communities.
A detailed project proposal is being finalized and ADMCF will be seeking funding within the coming months.
