2022 Annual Report

A Perfect Storm, Justice, Ambition, Transformation

We are pleased to release our 2022 Annual Report, highlighting the work of our programmes across an extraordinary year, wherein the Conference of the Parties to three of the world’s major international environmental conventions coincided in a perfect storm.

The ensuing environmental debates and target setting globally, reinforced the rationale for much of our programmatic work, as we continue to pivot to address shifting environmental baselines in a changing climate. From Climate and Water Risks, Transitioning to Net Zero, Protecting Wildlife, Living Oceans, World Without Waste, Finance for Nature to our Legacy Kid’s program, we believe our past achievements and agenda for the work ahead to be more relevant than ever as we continue to push towards transformational change.

This work and the direction we take would not be possible without our grantees, donors, co-investors, and service providers, as well as the experts who continue to provide pro bono advice and support. On behalf of myself and the rest of the team at the Foundation, we sincerely thank you for your ambition, vision and for your belief that working together we can make a difference.

Sophie le Clue

I joined ADMCF a year after its founding in 2007, and for the past 28 years i have worked in the field of environmental protection and conservation, principally in the Asia Pacific region. Since joining the Foundation, the environmental challenges that seemed intransigent back then, have in many areas intensified and continued to cause local, regional and global concern. At the same time, we have seen improvements: local air quality has been creeping in the right direction; water risks in China have been mainstreamed in the investor community; environmental regulations are being tightened; businesses and NGOs are collaborating to address myriad issues including waste and sustainable supply chains; and importantly realistic financial models for nature-based solutions are fast developing. In late 2021, I stepped in to ADMCF’s CEO role following Lisa Genasci’s move into her new position at ADM Capital.
