Hong Kong 2050 is Now is a new partnership initiative led by Civic Exchange, World Resources Institute, ADMCF and RS Group that seeks a pathway for our city to become carbon neutral.
We aim both to inspire ambition and mobilise collective action to move Hong Kong through the transition, along the way setting examples for how the city might mitigate the risks of climate change.
To achieve this, we align diverse HK climate action, from policy to education to media and community engagement, all underpinned by sound evidence based research.
Our activities in Hong Kong have begun with data collection, analysis and scenario modelling. But the needed policy change must be underpinned by community support, so we are working to develop a broad platform to educate and inform HK about climate change as it relates directly to our lives.
As an island importer, we are over-consumers of everything, from travel, to food to water, to clothing. Indeed, public education is a critical component of how we intend to build Hong Kong 2050 is Now, leading to broader understanding of the issues and forming the basis for action.
