Hong Kong and its residents face many urban and nature conservation-related challenges, ranging from air quality to consumption of endangered species, threats to our biodiversity in country parks to urban planning that often doesn’t take people into consideration.
In 2014, ADMCF launched SupportHK, Hong Kong’s first environmental petition website which focuses on Hong Kong’s environmental and urban challenges. By connecting concerned citizens and gathering support for environmental change, the site provides a platform from which to effectively amplifying citizens which can be heard by decision makers.
The impetus of Hong Kong’s first environmental petition platform was the increasing and seemingly insurmountable nature of environmental challenges facing Hong Kong, coupled with a sense of disempowerment in the local community to make change.
