Drink Without Waste: Strategies and Actions

The positioning paper shows that Hong Kong can and should adopt comprehensive strategies and actions to reduce single-use beverage packaging from going to waste by moving to a circular system where beverage packaging has a market value that incentivises recovery, recycling and reuse.

The Single-Use Beverage Packaging Working Group includes HK’s leading beverage producers and bottlers, major retailers, recyclers and NGO’s, launched the Drink without Waste initiative in December 2016. We pledge to work towards 70-90% recovery rates from PET containers and liquid cartons in Hong Kong by 2025.
