Species Composition of the International Shark Fin Trade Assessed through a Retail-market Survey in Hong Kong

Using DNA analysis, BLOOM Association Hong Kong collaborated with a team of scientists locally and from the U.S. to publish a study that looks into the species composition of shark fins sold in the Hong Kong retail market. The study revealed that a third of shark fin products on retailed in Hong Kong are from threatened species.
